Costa Blanca
"Let's go climbing somewhere warm,"
I said. "Where?" asked Mike. "Haven't the foggiest," I countered. So at
the end of January we duly arrived at Alicante airport. The week was so horrible
that I forced myself to go back 6 weeks later for some more of the same.
| Close to Calpe, an ideal crag for the first and/or last day, particularly if you climb below 6a! | ||
| I don't remember much about this crag as I was suffering from a migraine for most of the day. | ||
| Some steep climbing above some orange groves. Not much below 6a. | ||
| Unaccountably missing from the Rockfax guide, this gives some wonderful climbing in a beautiful situation | ||
| Some steep climbing overlooking Calpe | ||
| A 300m tower at Calpe, this just has to be climbed! | ||
| At 1400m this is the highest mountain in the area, and rises virtually from the sea, just behind Benidorm. | ||
| One of the best (and most popular) crags on the Costa Blanca. Cartujal is the best 5+ in the world! | ||
| Usually lumped in with Sella, it's in the next valley and is a mountain rather than a crag | ||
| Some views of Benidorm - from a distance it doesn't look too bad! | ||
| Our base for the week |
